SEE Learning
SEE Learning, offered by Emory University, provides a lesson-based and teaching practices approach to SEL and offers programming for grades Pre-K-12. A CASEL-approved evaluation demonstrates evidence of effective in grades 4-5. Key features of SEE Learning include cultivating attention skills, emphasizing compassion, and integrating trauma research for effective stress management. SEE Learning is translated into 23 languages.

Sharpen Minds
The Sharpen Mental Health Literacy program is an evidence-based, 5-hour training program for high school students. The course enables students to engage with over 75 peer based documentary films incorporated into comprehensive, strength-based modules covering a range of topics including: humanistic mental health literacy, stigma reduction, suicide prevention, disordered eating prevention, strategies for finding support, and “5 minute mindfulness” techniques for improving personal resilience. The asynchronous program was created by Resiliency Technologies, a public health prevention company whose founder worked for nearly 20 years leading mental health literacy and resiliency trainings in schools. The content assembled into SMHL was built in collaboration with over 25 researchers and has been created utilizing best practices (Semchuck et al, 2023) requiring assessment, community listening and stakeholder input (Gruber et al, 2023).
Resource materials include: Full program guide, manual and resource book, self-report checklist, pre/post knowledge assessments and youth-focused videos.

Smart Brain Wise Heart
Smart Brain Wise Heart, offered by the Heart Math Institute, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades 4-10 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness in grade 10. Translated materials for Smart Brain Wise Heart are available in Spanish and Mandarin, with resources for parents available in Spanish, German, Indonesian, Chinese, Hebrew, Portuguese, and Dutch, among others.

Social Decision-Making/Problem Solving
The Social Decision Making/Problem Solving Program, offered by Rutgers University, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades K-8 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness when implemented in grades 4-5. Translated materials are available in Spanish.The Social Decision Making/Problem Solving Program uses a skills-based framework with robust embedded practices across school, home, and community settings to promote students’ skills development. Multiple, ongoing opportunities to practice helps students internalize the skills, thus making them more likely to use these skills in real-world scenarios.

Social Emotional Language Learning Arts (SELLA)
Social Emotional Language Learning Arts (SELLA), offered by Montgomery County Educational Service Center, provides academic integration and lesson-based approaches to SEL. SELLA is designed to be integrated with ELA, with particular emphasis on writing skills and alignment with the Common Core State Standards for writing. Lessons also reference Common Core State Standards for reading, speaking, and listening. SELLA offers programming for grades K-6. A CASEL-approved evaluation demonstrates evidence of effective in grades 2-5.

Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS) Classroom Intervention Program
The Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS) Classroom Intervention Program, offered by SSIS CoLab, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. Sources of Strength
Sources of Strength is a best practice youth suicide prevention project designed to harness the power of peer social networks to change unhealthy norms and culture, ultimately preventing suicide, bullying, and substance abuse. Sources of Strength is one of the first suicide prevention programs that uses Peer Leaders to enhance protective factors associated with reducing suicide at the school population level. Sources of Strength Peer Leaders are a diverse group of individuals who leverage their personal and collective leadership qualities as well as their social influence in leading the charge in norming and culture change campaigns using strength-based messages to impact multiple issues including suicide.

The SPARK Mentoring Programs provide evidence-based K-12th grade programs and professional development opportunities that increase emotional well-being, resilience, and emotional regulation while developing executive functioning skills needed to navigate life with greater ease.
