Social Emotional Language Learning Arts (SELLA)
Social Emotional Language Learning Arts (SELLA), offered by Montgomery County Educational Service Center, provides academic integration and lesson-based approaches to SEL. SELLA is designed to be integrated with ELA, with particular emphasis on writing skills and alignment with the Common Core State Standards for writing. Lessons also reference Common Core State Standards for reading, speaking, and listening. SELLA offers programming for grades K-6. A CASEL-approved evaluation demonstrates evidence of effective in grades 2-5.

Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS) Classroom Intervention Program
The Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS) Classroom Intervention Program, offered by SSIS CoLab, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades Pre-K-8 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness in grades 1 and 2. Translated materials for SSIS Classroom Intervention Program are available in Spanish.

Sources of Strength is a strength-based prevention curriculum. Students and staff are invited into creating communities where belonging, wellness, and connection are the norm, leading to increased purpose and agency, therefore diminishing downstream negative outcomes. Our model creates a cultural shift and moves to increase health and wellness through empowering individuals and communities of belonging and connection to Empower a Well World.

The SPARK Mentoring Programs provide evidence-based K-12th grade programs and professional development opportunities that increase emotional well-being, resilience, and emotional regulation while developing executive functioning skills needed to navigate life with greater ease.

Student Success Skills(SSS)

Teen Mental Health First Aid
This in-person training teaches high school students about common mental health challenges and what they can do to support their own mental health and help a friend who is struggling. It’s equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to foster their own wellness and to support each other.

The 4 Rs (Reading, Writing, Respect & Resolution)
The 4Rs Program, offered by the Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades Pre-K-8 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness at grades 3 and 4. Translated materials are available in Spanish.
The 4Rs (for Reading, Writing, Respect, and Resolution) is a program intended to improve social emotional learning as well as literacy for students in grades K-5. It uses high-quality literature to help students gain skills such as handling anger, listening, assertiveness, and cooperation, among others. The 4Rs provides teachers with a literacy-based curriculum of 21-35 lessons based on social-emotional issues. Teachers follow lessons with units on skills highlighted in the readings. Teachers receive 25 hours of training plus extensive coaching.

The Character Effect
The Character Effect, offered by Beech Acres Parenting Center, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for Pre-K-6 and demonstrated evidence of effectiveness at grades 3-5.
