Teen Mental Health First Aid
This in-person training teaches high school students about common mental health challenges and what they can do to support their own mental health and help a friend who is struggling. It’s equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to foster their own wellness and to support each other.

The 4 Rs (Reading, Writing, Respect & Resolution)
The 4Rs Program, offered by the Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades Pre-K-8 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness at grades 3 and 4. Translated materials are available in Spanish.
The 4Rs (for Reading, Writing, Respect, and Resolution) is a program intended to improve social emotional learning as well as literacy for students in grades K-5. It uses high-quality literature to help students gain skills such as handling anger, listening, assertiveness, and cooperation, among others. The 4Rs provides teachers with a literacy-based curriculum of 21-35 lessons based on social-emotional issues. Teachers follow lessons with units on skills highlighted in the readings. Teachers receive 25 hours of training plus extensive coaching.

The Character Effect
The Character Effect, offered by Beech Acres Parenting Center, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for Pre-K-6 and demonstrated evidence of effectiveness at grades 3-5.

The Fourth R

The Leadership Program’s Violence Prevention Project
The Leadership Program’s Violence Prevention Project, provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades 6-12 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness in grades 6-10.

Toolbox Project
Toolbox Project provides a teaching practices and lesson-based approach to SEL and offers programming for grades Pre-K-6. A CASEL-approved evaluation demonstrates evidence of effectiveness at grades K-2. ToolBox Project offers a teacher-facing online content portal that houses lesson plans, extension activities, printables for the classroom, implementation supports, and reports about the program’s research base. Student- and caregiver-facing materials are available in Spanish.
