Evidence of Effectiveness

Results from a randomized controlled trial conducted in 2019 supported the effectiveness of BASE Education for middle school students in two states. This evaluation included 283 students in two schools who were in grades 6-8 (44% Black/African American, 44% Latinx, 38% white, 13% Other). This evaluation found that students who participated in the program demonstrated significantly higher teacher-reported school engagement compared to students in the comparison group (outcomes reported five weeks after baseline while controlling for outcome pretest). Given that the significant findings were teacher-reported and not student-reported, BASE Education is designated as Promising.
