This educational initiative is designed to inspire life-changing conversations and equip people from all walks of life with the knowledge and refusal skills they need to steer clear of substance misuse. Access standards-aligned content for students in grades 3-12, available in both English & Spanish, plus additional resources for educators, families, and professionals.

Parent Teacher Home Visits–SEL
The Parent Teacher Home Visits model was co-created by parents and educators using the community organizing principles of shared leadership. Participating teachers conduct 30-40 minute home visits in which educators listen, ask questions, and make observations that they can take back to their classrooms to improve instruction for the learner. As a two-visit model, PTHV encourages the first relationship-building visit to occur in the summer or early fall, followed by ongoing communication throughout the year and a second visit that focuses on academics or any other relevant issue to the student or family. The PTHV model has five non-negotiables: visits are voluntary and arranged in advance, teachers are trained and compensated for visits, visits focus on hopes and dreams, educators visit a cross-section of students (not a targeted intervention), educators fo in pairs and reflect
Pathways to Empower; Brain-Based Mental Health Literacy
Pathways to Empower offers comprehensive brain-based mental health literacy resources for elementary, middle school, high school, and college communities. Includes:
Elementary School Teacher Grade-Level Sequential Lesson Plans and Student Workbooks.
Middle School, High School, and College-level student workbooks that include four core modules.
Educator Professional Learning Fostering Wellness in Children & Teens (family learning)

Peace Learning Circles
Peace Learning Circles, offered by the Peace Learning Center, provides a teaching practices approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades K-12 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness at grades 3 and 4. Translated materials for Peace Learning Circles are available in Spanish and French.

PeerLearning.net
PeerLearning.net provides a teaching practices approach to SEL and offers programming for grades 4-12. Two CASEL-approved evaluations demonstrate evidence of effectiveness in grades 6, 9-10 and 6, 8, 9, respectively. PeerLearning.net is a piece of software designed to support teachers with integrating principles of cooperative learning into their lessons. A student-facing interface guides groups of learners through lessons via a series of task, discussion, and reflection prompts. The online interface can be presented in English, Spanish, and Italian.

Positive Action
Positive Action is a whole-school reform strategy designed to improve social-emotional and achievement outcomes by building school climate, self-control, goal-setting, problem-solving, persistence, and other skills. Students learn these skills through structured discussions and activities, games, and role plays. Teachers receive detailed manuals and materials to support 140 15-20 minute lessons per year (4 days per week). Parents also receive handbooks that parallel the school lessons.

Pure Power, offered by Pure Edge Inc., provides a lesson-based approach to SEL. It includes programming for grades K-12 and demonstrates evidence of effectiveness in grades 9-11. Translated materials for Pure Power are available in Spanish and American Sign Language.
